the heartbeat
Today we had our 12 week visit and got to hear the baby's heartbeat. It was around 160bpm, which the doctor said was perfect.
Jesse had a little trouble getting the iPhone to record at first, but asked Dr. Noh to do it again, and got a great recording.
It was very surreal - I think we're supposed to be in awe, and I was supposed to cry or something. But I was just so happy to hear it, just... just, happy.
So it's in there, doin' it's baby thing. I think we're going to be great friends.

Try not to get sucked in to all of the "how you are supposed to feel" stuff. I'm not an overly mushy person, and started feeling a little guilty when people would ask "oh, did you cry when..." since I never did. I've only just had happy emotions, even when she was born. So cry if you want to cry, laugh when you want to laugh, and enjoy your baby every step of the way in YOUR own way. You are going to be such a good mommy!
